Network Reconstruction from Intrinsic Noise
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider the problem of inferring the structure and dynamics of an unknown network driven by unknown noise inputs. For linear, time-invariant systems of minimal order, with hidden states and one noise source per measured state, we characterise under what conditions this problem is wellposed and present two main results. First, for networks with stable interactions between measured states and where the noise sources act through minimum phase dynamics, we prove that the solution for the network is unique and that the solution for the input dynamics is unique up to sign. If the assumptions of stability and phase-minimality are relaxed, we characterise the set of all solutions and prove that if the noise acts directly on the measured states, then the number of solutions is finite and bounded by a function of the number of hidden states. Lastly we present a method to obtain this set of solutions from data.

Robust dynamical network structure reconstruction
This paper addresses the problem of network reconstruction from data. Previous work identified necessary and sufficient conditions for network reconstruction of LTI systems, assuming perfect measurements (no noise) and perfect system identification. This paper assumes that the conditions for network reconstruction have been met but here we additionally take into account noise and unmodelled dyn...

Introduction: Noise and spatial resolution (SR) are the main characteristics of image quality in CT scanning affected by different radiation and technical parameters. One of the important parameters are reconstruction kernels. Different reconstruction kernels are used for noise reduction and/or edge-enhancement purposes. In this study, we investigate some reconstruction kern...
متن کاملEffect of Underwater Ambient Noise on Quadraphase Phase-shift Keying Acoustic Sensor Network Links in Extremely Low Frequency Band
This study evaluates the impact of underwater ambient noise using seven real noise samples; Dolphin, Rain, Ferry, Sonar, Bubbles, Lightning, and Outboard Motor in three frequency ranges in extremely low frequency (ELF) band. The ELF band is the most significant bandwidth for underwater long-range communication. ELF band which is extended from 3 to 3000 Hz clearly, faces bandwidth limitation. Me...
متن کاملOn the Processing Of White Gaussian Noise Biomedical Signals With The Empirical Mode Decomposition
Abstract. Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is widely used in biomedical field for biomedical signal processing and especially for electrocardiogram (ECG) processing. Removal of artifacts that corrupt ECG, is carried out by proper selection of Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMF) for the partial signal reconstruction. In this paper a study of the influence of White Gaussian Noise in synthetic electr...
متن کاملNoisy Linear Networks
During the last few years, (bottleneck) linear neural network architectures have received considerable amounts of interest due to their importance in feature extraction. Suppose that an n-dimensional random vector x is to be compressed into a p-dimensional vector y = c(x), where p < n, in a way that relative to some performance criterion, y contains as much information about x as possible. If t...
